I'm guessing it does since the reports posted by someone on this forum (sorry forgot your name) included chaos attacking. But then they could have just used the rules for marines and just slightly modified them. I dont imagine there would be a big difference between the two.

Hello,
When we played with Chaos Space Marines, the BR you read, we simply used the the Space Marine army list with Chaos miniatures to parody them. The new Armegeddon game will "focus" on the Ork invasion of the planet only. The initial army lists will include S.M.'s, I.G., Orks and Titan Legions. However, the rule book will (is supposed to anyway) include "get-you-by" lists for Chaos, Eldar and Tyranids. So if you play Chaos and/or Eldar and you like the new rules you had better hope that EpicA does well when it is released. I sure hope that it does as I have two very large Chaos and Eldar armies that I would love to play under the new system. There are supposedly plans in the works to release Necron and Tau armies under EpicA, but again it had better do well . . . . . but I won't be holding my breath.

I thought that would be the case with your chaos. Does this all mean that EpicA is not exactly a new system replacing epic40k, but rather a new game to allow you to reinact the battle for Armegeddon? Thats how it sounds. How I wish they hadn't chose Armegeddon. I hate how that has to be brought up all the time. There are plenty of other worlds out there. And also I never know if I'm spelling Armegeddon right, especially when I type fast. So I dug out a load of my epic last night. All my Eldar, as much Orks as I could find, all the marines, and as much Imperial I could find (i left stuff in the blisters though). Know I dont know wether to play epic 40k or wait for EpicA in which I cant use my Eldar. Whats everyones views so far on the EpicA? I'm especially interested in those who played a lot of Epic40k and now have tried a lot of games of EpicA.

Well, the link at the bottom of the front page has a rumour about the coming Necron invasion for Epic - but only that it is on the horizon as soon as Fanatic can work out exactly what a Necron full army really is. As far as I know, EpicA is a completely new game, replacing Epic40K. It just happens to be set on Armageddon (that is how you spell it - a, single m, a, single g, e, double d - I had problems too! ) I dont think that the Armageddon title is that much of a problem. Most races were involved. Fanatic are set on it, that is about the only thing that definately wont change and the background is already available to use with no extra effort. It makes sense. Whatever they called it, I guess that some armies had to go first while others waited their turn - the title just dictates the first forces. But, I have heard that the realise wont be like Epic40K, where each army came out seperately, but that units from all armies will be realised continuously. At least means that you wont have to wait too long. How much Epic stuff could you find? It sounds like a challenge. I have the Epic box filled with unopened blisters and a large GW bag filled the same way. I then have a couple of shoe boxes and another bag or two of opened stuff and sprues. Not too much actually painted that I will admit to though! I dont think that I will need to buy any Epic stuff ever again - which probably means that I will be at the front of the line when the metal is released! I think that you know my opinion of EpicA. I really like the way that it is going. I have not had the chance to play a lot of games with it, but I should get a lot more time next month - and I plan to use it to paint, play and update the site.

Well I've decided to play EpicA, but still use Eldar. I've wrote my own playtest list for them (I've sent you a copy Cybershadow) so I can now have the best of both worlds. With the vault open to me, I cannow go about playing some interesting games.

Well I've just had my first reply from Fanatic's Jervis to some queries. How special does that make you feel, that they are actually reading your comments, and reply to them. Its certainly made me want to play more, if only to add my own input to a new GW game.

In general, I have found the Fanatic are great for this kind of thing and reply to most of the emails that I send them. There is occasionally a breakdown in communication, where one person does not know what someone else at Fanatic got or said, but I guess that is normal.
It does make you feel that it is worth emailing and making comments, which is very different from GW. That is one of the reasons that I am so against a lot of the anti EpicA/Fanatic that is out there, I feel that there are actually doing what a lot of us have been complaining about for a long time.

It easy to pick up cheap plastic epic stuff. You don't need to buy the metal troops.

Hello Ironfrost, welcome to the boards.
I know what you mean. They are always on Ebay for sale. I have plenty for the moment, well of Eldar. I may buy an Imperial guard sprue, and some Leman Russ' since I'm just a few short of these to make a decent force.
I've got bloody 12 hellhounbs though, and 6 demolishers, which are unlikely to get used with how the new rules work.

I may be interested in the Hellhounds, and possibly the Demolishers too. They fit in well with my Genestealer Army.
I have pretty much all of the infantry that I need right now. I could probably use a few more Chaos sprues, and I like the old Squat sprues but they are difficult to get in numbers.
(Hi Ironfrost, and welcome.)

Ironforst- you need to try out the epicA demo rules, and give some feedback or comments to fanatic, and they will open the vault to you, from which you can download the current trial rules for Imperial Guard, Marines and Orks.
From these I've created my own rules for using Eldar, since they wont be available for a while.

Thank for the info. Last week I came across two guys playing a small game of epicA in my local store. Space marine ed1. were the first GW I ever played . Never played any of the newer editions. With the access to a free rule set and cheap 2nd hand figures I might try to play a bit again. Always loved I idea of hordes of tanks ;D. Ironfrost

Ahhh, first edition. I still have my copy hanging around (you can see it in the article about EpicA). Good days, and notice the plural - it took ages to play a game! That game will always be special as it was the first tabletop wargame that I bought. I still have most of the miniatures on their sprues!

I have some questions, if you could help me Cybershadow.
If a formation receives blast markers on a formation with troops in vehicles, can you choose to pin the transported troops, so that the vehicles can still fire.
If a formation of AP and AT weapons fire on a unit with infantry and tanks, do you fire all the AP at the infantry and all the AT at the tanks, or can you only choose to shoot one type. Ie Shoot all the AP weapons, meaning only infantry can be harmed.
I have more questions, but I've forgot them now. I could probably answered my own questions by going through the rules, but thought I'd ask here first. I was playing quite late last night, so wasn't really going through the rules if I could help it (I had watched Newcastle play first) I should be able to play all night tonight though.
