As far as I know, there were actually two expansions for Space Crusade. Dreadnought factory, with the best models from the original game as well as the Tarantulas Mission Dreadnought had, IIRC, 4 androids, 2 Dreadnoughts (including one set of larger legs and one carapace with four hardpoints) as well as a tarantula and three heavy weapon Marines (lascannon, conversion beamer, fusion gun) for each of three Chapters. I managed to get a brand new copy of BFG on Ebay.
Any ideas/suggestions on fleets that I can start with? I have been looking around and the Chaos fleets are tempting, I have seen some very good deals around on ebay so getting models shouldnt be a prob.
On the same subject has anyone bought FW BFG models? Are they as good as the Tau models that I have detailwise?
thanks in advance
Doug

I Like the look of the Imperial ships slightly better than Chaos so would go for those (its how I pick all my armies. If I'm gonna spend time on them, then I have to like them). Both Fleets are good though, in their own way. I dnt play either, so it may be best to ask advice on the BFG threads. (I play Eldar) You have definantly chose the correct armies if you want to keep your fleet cheap though. They're the only ones with plastics.
For Chaos fleet ideas, ask Cybershadow. Its his fleet of choice, and he knows a fair bit on them. I can only offer advice from an opponents perspective.

Thanks for the advice, I did want to keep tham simple first off and then once I got a fleet together thats finished I could start another. I am trying a different tactic to my Epic collection where I have loads of stuff but limited stuff that can actually be used on the battlefield due to not being painted. Whats the Eldar fleet like ? Thanks for the advice, I did want to keep tham simple first off and then once I got a fleet together thats finished I could start another. I am trying a different tactic to my Epic collection where I have loads of stuff but limited stuff that can actually be used on the battlefield due to not being painted. I do that every time I start a new army/fleet/game - I can promise you that it will not last! ;D I started just getting the things that I need imediately and stating that I will not get anything else until I have painted the first thing. That lasts about 4 days, when I see the new thing that I NEED, just one... You will probably find a fair few boxes of Gothic on EBay recently, the new version is due out very soon and so peop0le are selling the previous verison. But, the new one is almost identicle! The Chaos fleet is an excellent fleet. It is slightly faster than the Imperial, but lacks the blunt edge of the 'good guys'. Chaos plays differently in Gothic to Epic. They have a meaner, more raider edge to them. You will get four cruisers in the box, and a fleet list. Have a look, decide on the first four cruisers to make up (each cruiser kit can make one of seven types) and post here to let us know your line-up. We can then comment on it here. All the best.

thanks... I am looking forward to the end of the 4 day period before I am spending again Truth be told I am a nightmare with buying figs ;D I like you always need one more or 'I must get that' attitude. Still it looks like I have talked myself into unpacking stuff and painting..
