After going through my epic stuff recently, I came across the phantom Titan I'd never got round to making. As I took it out of its box I remembered why I hadn't made it straight away. I got two right feet in the box. So now if I'm going to make it, I need something to partially cover the foot to hide the fact that its wrong.
What do you think would be something suitable for the job? I'm thinking along the lines of a squished land raider, but I need it to cover some of the foot so not sure it would work. Maybe having it put its foot through a building roof?

I guess that you have two choices:
- Make a new foot (or both feet) using spare bits from other places or some plastic and card.
- Have him stepping on/through a vehicle/hedge/etc.
I would like to see pictures when it is done!

I've decided to put his foot through a building. I'm not sure if I need to do any major reworking yet. I had to get myself a round large base though, as I'd used up all my other ones (the thin ones). I dont really want to paint it Green like my other Titans, so this maybe the start of my new craftworld for epic. I think I'l go for yellow, as my 40k are either green or yellow, ala Biel Tan and Iyanden.

Great. I would like to see the finished product when it is done. Let me know how it goes.

Right, Ive got what I want to do in my head. The only Epic Buildings I have are the ones from the box set, so I'll have to use those. Might need to cut them down a bit, to make it look like he was able to stand on it in the first place. I think I'll do it in two parts. First put the Titan together with what ever converting that might be necessary, then build the ruined building around his pose. Then paint it in two parts. The base and its scenery spray black undercoat, highlighting upwards. And spry the Titan white, painting on my bad moon yellow (thats what colour I use for Iyanden, I used to have a spray can for it, but cant find any more cans). And I then use Storm Blue (I think) for the blue patterns.
I should have time to start it tonight. I'm going to aim to have it done by the weekend. I'll report back every now and then to report on how I'm getting on, and any problems I come across etc.
Then if only I could get a camera from somewhere.

Well I started it last night. What a pain in the arse. The model is c**p
. And The pose of its legs are stupid. Ideally I'd like to convert it into a better pose, but I dont have the time. So I've left its pose as it comes.
So the Titan is now together (All but the holofield generators) My next stage is to make the base. I've already chose what building parts I'm using. I'm also thinking of including a ruined Rhino on the base.
For the rhino I'm thinking of making it look like its been unfortunant to have suffered a direct hit from the D-cannon. Not sure how to go about this yet. First I'm going to try using a burner I've got. I'm hoping this will vapourise a large chunk of the Rhino, with melted edges to what remains. I've got plenty of Rhinos to practise with. If this doesnt work, it might be a case of a hammer and hole punch.
The Rhino is to be red (as my younger bro's a BA player, and its his Rhinos, sssshhhhhh ;D )

The Phantom titans do look a little static, and the poses are not great. One is OK, but the second Phantom and it looks the same. Try filing a little wedge out from behind the knee, this should allow you to bend the leg backwards a little at this point. Apart from that, there must be a load of things that you could do? I just cant think of any right now.

I would have a go at altering its pose, but I simply dont have the time. I have so many projects on the go at the moment (I can never concentrate on one thing at a time) that the Epic stuff is way down the list. So to get it done at all, means using the basic pose. At least It'll have a scenic base and different colour scheme to my other one, so should look different. (I have the newer versions by the way [the c**p
ones])

Okay, I finished building the Titan last night, and started the base. With the Titan standing on the base, I built the ruins around it. I decided not to have a ruined Rhino on the base in the end, as the destroyed building was enough. I used the building sections included in the box and put small gravel around the base of the walls to look like rubble. I then sprayed the base black, and gave it a wash of thin black paint to get into the small gaps. And I sprayed the Titan white, and then painted the whole thing bad moon yellow. The base I’ve highlighted with shadow grey. Tonight I’m going to finish the base off with some flock and a little more painting, which’ll just leave the details of the Titan to paint.

Well I've pretty much finished my Titan now. As soon as I get a photo opportunity I'll get a pic into the site. All I have to do now is paint more Vehicles and troops yellow as the titan is the only Iyanden figure at the moment.
