Hi. Epic is in hibernation right now. There will be new version out next year (about Summer, I guess). Meanwhile, the previous version has been withdrawn from GW stores/mail order. You might be able to find a copy on EBay, but there is a real lack of support at the present. The new version is being tested. You can get hold of a very basic set of rules here: www.epic40000.comPlay with these and email feedback to Fanatic and you will be given access to the Epic Vault, where the cool rules set lies. You can then get these versions for free right now. All the best.

Hi,
I would have to double check later but the box mainly consists of sprues for Space marines and Orks. The troops themselves are a fairly good mixture of normal cannon fodder and obviously the specialised troops like commanders and devastators etc etc. There are tanks and ork wagon sprues. For buildings there are only sprues of ruins; two types, one batch are of the taller buildings and the other are smaller versions.
There are the usual rules, ruler loads of dice, loads of blaster markers. Titans... Cant remember if there were only cardboard cut outs, I would need to double check on that.
Ebay do have good deals but I would say to look out for new still in wrapper auctions. Or at least if you know what to look for there is nothing wrong with going for the opened sets.
If you like I can look at the boxed set I have and confirm more in detail what the set consists of.

There is a titan, but its a card ork mega gargant. IIRC, there was a SM infantry set, a SM vehicle set an Ork infantry set, and an ork Vehicle set. Basically enough to get going straight away. It was designed for Epic40K though, so you may not be able to make a legal list for epicA. It would be close though. A little proxying might be in order, but it shouldn't be a problem.
I think the ruins are quite nice too. Made of plastic, like mini 40K ones. You then have the rulers, blast markers (essential), objective counters (fuel dumps etc), mini dice to record titans shields etc. If you can get a good price on one, I'd go for it.

Ohh, sorry. The boxed set containts only the pastic sprues for Marines and Orks. There are a fair few of them, I cant remember exactly how many, but they are Marine infantry, Marine vehicles, Ork infantry and Ork vehicles. All of the miniatures should be able to be used in the new edition, and the blast markers, etc will be very useful.
It retailed at about £40 in the UK (about $60 in the US, I think). I would consider if it was about ~$30 or less, for a new box. There are also card buildings, and ruins on the base sprues in plastic. These are the bits that you never really have enough of, and I guess that there is a possibility that the new version of Epic will only be a book, and so these may well be the most useful bits for you.

whats a good price? $24? $30? You will be very lucky if you can find a complete box for that price. On ebay it normally goes for at least its original price. That is assuming it is a complete box set. There are much cheaper sales out there, aslong as you don't mind a few missing bits.
