I am a bit nervous about starting a thread here, looking at the huge amount of replies other threads have got! ;D
Anyway, I am thinking about the 40K CCG. I just want to get a couple of decks so that I can control how many boosters contribute to the game and it does not get out of control. So, what do people think about it? And what would be two good decks to start with?
Most importantly, how much actual strategy and tactics are involved in the game?

OK, I picked up the Eldar deck, and I have to say that I am impressed with the system. It seems to be very well thought out, and actually quite complex and tactical. Does anyone else play this, what decks do they play and is there any advice for a very new player?

What do you get in a deck? I dont really know much about it, but have thought about just getting a deck of Eldar. I used to have tonnes of the Star Wars and Star Trek card games. They were okay, but I liked having huge battles with loads of ships. This meant that my brother and me had huge decks, and the games never ended. I suppose if we had followed the rules a little better, the game would have been better.
Anyway, have you had a game yet? How simple/confusing is it? What are the pics like? I know what one pic is like (Karandras) cause I down loaded it as one of my Avatars on Portent.

The decks are not too bad and you get a selection of cards. Generally, you get three commons, two uncommons and one rare card of various types. The art varies. I have decks for all six races, but concentrating on Eldar, Chaos and Guards. The game plays quite well, and involves battling over five sectors, deploying cards face down to the sectors and then each turn battling two sectors. My only problem is that if firepower beats armour then the unit is destroyed. This makes the individual fights quick affairs and a bit without colour. Aside from this, it is a good game. Worth getting the Eldar deck for £8 just to have a look. If you have any other questions then let me know.
