I think I'm right in saying this, but the next white dwarf appears to be advertising a battle report involving Dark Eldar, Eldar and Tyranids in the next WD! It should be an interesting read, I just hope it doesn't end up being as dissappointing as some of the others have been.

I wasn't particularly impressed. Space constraints and the fact the fleets did really 'mix it' with each other made it quite poor. I wish they would do a standard game, all these 'fluffy' battles aren't as good at the original battle report (escalating engagement) that sold the game to me. I wonder how much effect they are having on new/potential players?
Jackhammer, desperately attempting to buy more models for the BFG naval predecessor, Man O War (with no luck so far)

What issue is this in? I just got issue 276 and there's no BFG in it anywhere.

It is in WD 276 (UK edition). Pages 56 - 59, blink and you'll miss it . Jackhammer

Yep I nearly missed it once I'd finally got the WD. What a load of c**p
it was. They may have just as well had a pic of the ships and said 'we had a battle, and so-and-so won.' Nothing on the way the game works, tactics, weapons/ship stats. If I was new to it, I'd have just flicked straight past. Christ, why did they even bother.

I am a little behind, but I should be getting the new WD this weekend. The Gothic battle reports are a bit of a waste of time. They just do half a report. You get the basic actions, but none of the background and extras that make you care who wins and what happens. This is worse than no report, as it portrays Gothic as a two-dimensional game (in every sense!). I would love to see a WD battle report done properly, but I guess that there is just not the space for it right now. A real shame, and I guess that since this is just after the rerelease, it wont get much better!

Nope, just got my WD and there's no BFG in it at all...but then I'm in Australia. Maybe next issue!
So, who did win?

It had a wierd scenario that they made up, but basically the tyranids won. Though it was impossible for them not to.

I've sent an e-mail to Fanatic which, among other things, gave some feedback on the BFG reports and how they could do with a little improvement Jackhammer

Good idea. I guess if no-one complains, they wont realise they are dissappointing so many of us.

Great idea. A littel constructive critism would be good. A few hints to what we would like to see and how. I may well do the same.

Yeah, the Quality of some of the battle reports lately has been low. Most of the Battle reports I have seen online [Plug] including the great ones at this here website [/Plug] are better then the BFG ones in White Dwarf.
As for ways they could improve the batle reports, it might be a good idea to actually detail the battle that took place rather then taking some fancy pictures! Its no wonder not many new people are getting into BFG when it gets no exposure.
