I like my nova cannons, so I decided to come up with a nova cannon escort. My regular opponent and I are understanding when it comes to using home made ships, so I might actually use this someday.
Porcupine Long Range Bombardment Vessel Escort/1 Speed: 25 Turns: 90 Shields: 1 Turrets: 1
Weapons: Prow Nova Cannon
Special Rules: -The nova cannon shoots up to 100 cm, with a minimum range of 25 cm. -Must reload ordnance before firing nova cannon, but cannot run out. -Cannot fire nova cannon if a turn has been made in the preceeding movement phase.
Cost: 50 points
Ideas? Is this underpriced? Overpriced?

Personally I wouldn't allow an escort to have a Nova cannon mounted on an escort as I view them as huge guns. However the rules you made don't seam that bad although it does appear to be a bit underpriced. I would imagine that a squadren of these escorts would be quite damaging, only if they managed to avoid the opponents fire

What if I limited them to 3 per fleet?

I am with Blacksnotling on this one. I would not think that an Escort physically had the power resources to run a Nova. Also, an Escort gives you the speed and manoeuvrability that a Nove does not normally have. 50 points is too low, and alimit should certainly be introduced.
