thanks for the advice. I emailed Carl Woodrow regarding his manta which is displayed on ´his site Dropship. He answered that he washes his models first in warm soapy water then rinsed with loads of cold water and allowed to dry for the night. This is due to the fact that sometimes theres a thin film of release agent that needs removing before painting. As my base coat went on well, he suggested that I should also water down the paint. He also mentioned spraying it with bubonic brown then a wash of vermin brown. I think the note there is that he sprayed it. Still I will water down the paint when I paint the next manta. With the current one I will have to use a fine tipped pen to draw in all the detail again. Doug
