Just an idea for the future. Right now, there is still a list of things waiting to be updated. But, when that starts to get low, I have been thinking about another competition. What do you think of a design-a-scenario competition? Could be Gothic, EpicA or Epic40K, judged by the two mods and myself.
What do you think support would be like, and what could I offer as a prize? Just looking for general feedback. The last competition did better than I could have hoped, but that does not mean that they will all work.

I think promoting epic would be best as its a bit slack at the moment. Thats due to it being a bit in limbo at the moment though.
With that in mind, have a design a scenario, with a prize along the line of epic scenary/models. Though it could limit the entries from people who dont play it. It could though introduce them to it too.

It is a bit of a vicious circle, I am afraid. On the one hand, this site does not attract as many Epic players as Gothic players, as can be seen by these forums, and the amount of submissions for the games. That being the case, any competition based only on Epic will not be as popular as for Gothic. Right now, just getting people to send in Gothic stuff is an effort on its own. A competition on Epic only would not get many entries, and so not really worth the time right now. If anyone has a way of encouraging more Epic posters and visitors, then I would love to hear it.

What I was actually thinking was just to have the prize epic related. Whether people play the game or not shouldn't matter too much as its free . They can still submit scenarios (or whatever you decide) for any system to enter the competition. This way, hopefully, it may get them interested in epic, if not already a player. I would probably suggest something alog the lines of a formation (eg. 6 tac stands etc) if minis are to be the prize. And maybe include the rules for them. That way they can have a little go with thier new minis, and may get interested in it. Apart from scenarios, do you have any other ideas on possible competition subjects? Artwork maybe? Though thats unfair for people who cant draw (me ) painted minis are a bit hard to judge via pics on the site, as it will depend upon the quality of the camera, and how well it was taken. Fiction could be another possibility.

A good idea, as long as people dont enter if they are not interested in Epic. I have a load of Epic stuff, and I could put together a fairly good prize - especially since I have a load of plastics that are no longer available, some of the original plastic Titans and the Games Day Epic multi-part Marine.
As for what the competition could centre on, it would depend really on what the site needed most. I simply suggested scenarios as we dont have many at all, and that is something that I feel most players would be interested in getting.
Painting I would like to avoid, firstly as you say because it is difficult to judge. Secondly as we have a few pictures already. Thirdly, as, why nice to look at, I dont know if people would actually visit a site for mini pics. And fourthly as the Gothic painting competition has just finished with over 100 entries!
I thought that a scenario competition would allow everyone to enter evenly, and put some good work and original ideas into. Artwork I am against as I cant even draw stick men well! Besides, there is not much space dedicated to art on the site.
In the end, the competition would be to gather material to expand this site, so painting and modelling articles are another consideration.
