Not really a specific question to BFG I know but its relevent. when you photograph your minis what do you use in the background. I use a wall behind my minis but I find that sometimes can lead to problems (ie. its too plain and doesn't always fit in. How do you do it, and do you have any suggestions?
Edit: on second thoughts, this topic would have suited General Miniatures section. If some body would move it, it would be great. Sorry.

Having moved this thread, I am now going to talk about Gothic! ;D
My gothic ships are photographed very easily. I take two flat, largish boxes and stand them in an L shape. I then drape a dark cloth over them. I either use a raincoat (yes, really), or my Gothic cloth (I have a number of lengths of coloured felt for my games table - black for Gothic, green for Epic and a grey one).
I occasionally use the wall as a background, especially for the battle report pictures as the game is in progress, but I find that the shadow of the miniature can get in the way.
I hope that this helps.

Thats it, I am going to have to invest in a black cloth for my games. Does anybody know where good places are to get them (in the UK).
Thanks for the photo help btw. My biggest problem is making my pictures look intresting as most are taken on my desk top.

I would imagine that the best place to buy cloth would be a fabric store, like a knitting place or something. Personally I just painted the bottom of my regular boards balck, and then flicked paint over for stars.

I went to a fabric store. I have a large (8 foot by 4 foot) table, which is hinged to the wall. I took a piece of felt (fairly cheap and good and soft in case the models fall over) to cover it. I got black (for Gothic), green (for Epic) and grey (as a neutral colour and for city fights in Epic). Also, I got some of those table cloth holds - the ones for outside picnics which are like spring paper clips. They hold down the cloth and I got a set of four for about £3.
