Finally my gaming club are doing a BFG tourny. Hurrah.
The details haven't been sorted yet, but the idea is to have a large section of systems. You start with one under your control, and can take over other by travelling there. To take over a system, you have to fight whoever is stationed there (BFG) and then fight on the planets surface with what ever forces you were able to land. (40K) Each ship is allocated a force.
I dont know any more details as yet, because its not been setup yet.
The only down side is that it'll be running the same time as the Mordheim campaign, which I also want to do. So I'll have to squeeze them both in.

Sounds interesting. Let us know the troubles and solutions as you come across them. It is something that can be difficult to put together. I have been thinking about generic campaign rules to add to this site, but they have been placed on a back-burner right now. (Just getting an update done would be a good start - it will be very soon now. I hope to have it done this week!)

Well I know more details now.
The BFG fleet size is 1000pts and the 40K size is 1500pts.
My regular opponent is thinking of buying some Necron BFG as his current fleet is Chaos, but he doesn't have Chaos 40k any more.
Anyway, I would appreciate some advice on my fleet. I rarely choose just 1000pts, so I'm struggling to streamline my fleet. Unfortunantly I will have to spend some points on a Pirate Prince. Very unfortunant, I would rather save the 100pts for more ships on such a small fleet.
So, I am undecided on the following-
I would have loved to include a Void Stalker, but it will take up a lot of points (480 including the prince)
Which leaves me with the option of using a Shadow and Eclipse, backed up with Escorts;
Or, An Eclipse and investing in a couple of Auroras backed up by Escorts.
What do you guys reckon? I've never used a light cruiser yet, but think in this role it maybe the ideal place for one (or two).

I dont have much experience with my Eldar fleet, I just keep going back to Chaos. I would take a couple of cruisers and a Light Cruiser, and then take escorts. How much is one Eclipse, a Shadow and a Solaris? I would start with those and fill out the rest. What will you be facing? You can guess that you will be up against, on average, three or four cruisers and a handful of escorts. You may need to face a Battleship occasionally, but not that often in 1000 points.

Well its club night tonight. And my regular opponent wants a game of BFG as he wants refreshing on the rules. Not sure of the points yet, but I'll try and get him up to at least 1500pts. As soon as I know the points, I'll come back and post a list.
